The Town of Paris, Maine is accepting applications for an immediate opening for a full-time police officer. Applicants must be certified as full-time officer by the Maine Criminal Justice Academy or have completed Phase I and Phase II of the Law Enforcement Pre-Service Training Program. If required, applicants must be able to undergo medical, psychological, and polygraph examinations, and pass an extensive background investigation. Non-full-time certified applicants must be able to pass the Maine Criminal Justice Academy physical fitness entrance standards. A complete fringe benefits package is offered to full-time employees, including paid health insurance, dental, life, Maine State retirement or an ICMA 457 retirement plan, 13-paid holidays as well as vacation/sick accruals, and a health insurance opt-out stipend of up to $175 per week. Certified lateral hires may be given hiring preference and may be compensated for prior experience.
