Summary of Position

Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Police Chief, the purpose of this position is to provide technical and/or administrative support for a variety of departmental functions including but not limited to:  records management, patrol, criminal investigations, recruitment, and property and evidence.  Performs additional related duties as needed.

• Assists and observes various functions of the police department as well as emergency communications and court processes. 
• May provide research support, assemble information, compile statistics, attend meetings, and prepare reports.
• Maintains good employee relations through timely and accurate response to questions and concerns; responds to sensitive issues while maintaining complete confidentiality. 
• Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers and others in the course of daily work.
• Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be in the process of acquiring an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or closely related field.
• Must pass background investigation. 
• Must pass interview.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State of Texas Driver’s License.
• Must possess good moral character.
