Full & Part-Time Special Services Deputies

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, located in mid-coast Maine, is currently accepting applications for both Full and Part-Time Special Services Deputies.  Typical duties of the position are Prisoner Transport, Court Security, and Inmate Work Crew Supervision.  

Lincoln County offers an excellent benefit package for full-time employees to include medical, dental, vision, life, short-term disability, a VOYA 457 retirement plan and a Maine State Retirement Plan with a 25-year, no age requirement, with two-thirds (2/3) pay.  

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applicants must be at least 21 years old or 20 years old with 60 college credits
  • Applicants must complete the Maine Criminal Justice Academy ALERT test prior applicant testing.  (ALERT testing is conducted the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month.  Please call 207-877-8000 to make an appointment). 
  • Applicants must be willing to participate in all phases of this preliminary testing process, which may include a physical agility test, written test, oral board, and several interviews.
  • Applicants must be Part-Time certified by the Maine Criminal Justice Academy or be able to successfully complete the training course within the first year of employment. 
  • Meet all requirements set by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office job description.  A copy is available at the Sheriff's Office and at www.lincolnso.me.
